its weird, but the more i draw, at speed while riding in the car on the interstate and highways, an almost elemental visual vocabulary emerges…
tight squiggles for faraway trees.
broken billowy lines for clouds.
craggy lines for distant mountains
not landscapes, but landshapes…
by the time i get to big sky the drawings slow-ly slow-ly slow-ly become not as awful as when i started
try to capture the wisp of chairlifts highlighted against tree-darkness as they zip downhill
